Annual State-Wide Grant Application Process Begins with Letters of Intent Due January 1
Mandeville, Louisiana: Keep Louisiana Beautiful – Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB), Louisiana’s leading community improvement organization, will begin accepting Letters of Intent for its 2021-2022 Healthy Community Grant on Friday, January 1, 2021. Keep Louisiana Beautiful will accept Letters of Intent via email or by mail to 902 Coffee St., Mandeville, LA 70448 no later than Friday, March 5.
KLB seeks to fund projects and programs that have a measurable, sustainable impact on one or more of the identified focus areas. Focus areas include litter prevention, waste reduction, recycling, reusing, litter enforcement, and environmental education related to KLB’s mission. Reimbursement grants from $2500 to $8000 are open to state-wide non-profit organizations, governmental agencies, schools and universities, and KAB affiliates.
Keep Louisiana Beautiful awarded over $123,000 in grant funding in 2020. Since 2004, Keep Louisiana Beautiful has awarded over $3 million to local communities to address litter abatement, waste reduction, recycling, and environmental education.
“Keep Louisiana Beautiful is once again excited to see the proposed projects and programs that will inspire and educate people to take action to improve, preserve, and protect the natural beauty of Louisiana. Every community should be clean, green, and a beautiful place to live,” said Cabell Mouton, KLB’s Affiliate and Grants Manager. “Each year, the proposed initiatives get more bold, innovative, and dynamic,” echoed KLB’s Executive Director, Susan Russell, “and we cannot wait to see the visionary approaches submitted this year!”
The Healthy Communities Grant is a two-stage application comprised of an initial Letter of Intent submitted by mail or email, and a second formal grant application through an online portal for those invited to move forward in the process.
To apply: Potential recipients are required to submit a Letter of Intent by email or mail before March 5, 2021. After an initial review and selection process, invited applicants will submit a formal grant application via an online portal by April 15.
