LAPLACE — Two upcoming blood drives in St. John the Baptist Parish present a chance for community members to give back this holiday season with the best present of all — the gift of life.

Donors will receive a choice of the following gifts — The Blood Center’s new Christmas socks and Grinch T-shirt, family blood coverage or membership to the Heart Club. Choosing the Heart Club option helps send children with cancer and chronic hematologic disorders to a non-profit summer camp known as Camp Challenge.

The first Christmas blood drive will be hosted in partnership with the St. John Department of Health and Human Services from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15 at the St. John Community Center, located at 2900 U.S. 51 in LaPlace. The Blood Center has a goal to collect 20 donations at this drive.
