LUTCHER — St. James Parish Hospital is proud to announce the 2020 Employees of the Third Quarter, Dionne Williams, certified nursing assistant, and Vonnie Trench, admission specialist. Both employees were nominated by fellow staff and chosen by the Executive Leadership Team for their dedication to the hospital.

Dionne Williams, CNA, graduated from Lutcher High School in May 1984. Following graduation, she attended Southern University for two years.  She then obtained her certification as a nursing assistant from Eastern College of Health Vocations. She has worked as a certified nursing assistant for 25 years at St. James Parish Hospital.

Administrative assistant Rachael Amato nominated Dionne. Rachael described how Dionne went above and beyond for her when she, herself, was a patient in the hospital. She stated that in addition to giving amazing patient care, Dionne is a coworker that can always be counted on to lend a helping hand. Rachael also mentioned that Dionne buys supplies with her own money to help needy patients out as they are being discharged home.

“We are truly blessed to have Dionne as part of our SJPH team,” said Rachael.

After receiving the recognition, Dionne stated, “First and foremost, I would like to thank St. James Parish Hospital for giving me an opportunity to work here. Working here has given me a chance to work with caring, loving and giving coworkers that are willing to go the extra mile to succeed.

“It’s a privilege to work at a local and family-oriented facility that’s true to its mission. Again, I am proud and appreciate being chosen as Employee of the Quarter, Thank You!” said Dionne.

Vonnie began her career at St James Parish Hospital 12 years ago joining the hospital with eight years of experience. She is 1988 graduate of St James High. She attended Southern University for two years majoring in business administration, then furthered her education at Louisiana Institute of Technology in Kenner where she received a diploma in data entry.

Shannon Jackson, CNA, nominated Vonnie for her welcoming personality, caring spirit and dedication to our patients and facility.

“This employee has a style all of her own and the patients just love her,” said Shannon.

“Vonnie has been working at St. James Parish Hospital for several years and has truly brought a lot of love and attention to our team. It takes a truly compassionate person to be able to handle admissions.”

Upon receiving the recognition, Vonnie stated, “I am a mother of two beautiful girls, a wife to an amazing husband and sister to the best sister in the world. As an employee here at St James Parish Hospital for 12 years I have made so many new friends and have met so many wonderful people.

“My passion is helping others in any way I can. In my new position here at the hospital, I miss seeing my patients so much.  I look forward to many more blessed years and future endeavors with this great company,” said Vonnie.

St. James Parish Hospital celebrates both employees for their dedication to the hospital’s mission of providing excellent, quality and compassionate healthcare.
