This year the holidays may be celebrated a little differently, but nonetheless, will still be celebrated. This story highlights a group of friends that became a close-knit family over the course of years —  over 30 years to be exact.

From kindergarten class at Godchaux Grammar, East St. John senior skip day, to having their first job together, these friends met early on in life and became inseparable, making a lifetime of memories along the way.

As we all know, this pandemic has limited our surroundings, and shifted the way we celebrate. For these seven friends, this new normal has allowed them to make lemonade with the lemons of 2020. Friendsgiving became the theme, and Nov. 21 was set aside to celebrate true and lasting friendships. A day to uplift each other, and to show appreciation for the impact each person has on the other.

Life has a funny way of bringing people together, but for Neka, LaDena, Nadia, Kyneisha LaTonya, Kristen and Jauwana, being together brings fun to life.
