Jack A. (Brice) Coleman passed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior at home surrounded by family on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the age of 86. He was a native of Mobile, AL and a resident of LaPlace, LA. Jack started his career in the grain industry at the Alabama State Docks in Mobile, Alabama before moving to Louisiana with his family in 1960 continuing his career working for several grain export companies. He established Research Fumigation Company in 1976 providing food protection services to the post harvest agricultural industry. Both of his sons were blessed to join him in that endeavor. He loved his God, his family, his friends, really enjoyed fishing, woodworking, golf and working his pride and joy farm in Poplarville, Mississippi. He truly was a Jack-of-all-trades. Beloved husband of Joyce Peattie Coleman. Loving father of Jack A. (Jay) Coleman, Jr. (Lizette St. Martin) and Jeff Coleman (Yvette St. Martin). Grandfather of Josh Coleman (Valerie Van Zandt), Jason Coleman (Emily Britton), Jeanne Coleman Poché (Jeremy), Andrew Coleman and Jesse Coleman. Great grandfather of Willa Poché, Sloan Poché, Jack Coleman and Ford Coleman. Son of the late Willie Belle Clarke Coleman and Luther William (Billy) Coleman, Jr. Brother of the late Luther W. Coleman, III (Bernice) and Peggy Coleman Hall, (Bill).
Due to COVID-19 a private memorial service will be held for the immediate family prior to a walk-by visitation outside (weather permitting). Social distancing and masks required for everyone’s protection. The visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church, 301 Bamboo Road, Laplace, LA 70068 on Saturday, November 21, 2020 between 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials in his memory may be sent to the First United Methodist Church, 301 Bamboo Road, Laplace, LA 70068.
