LAPLACE — Riverlands Golf and Country Club is having its November Craft Show and Give Back Event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.

More than 35 vendors are registered for this event, and vendor fees are being donated to alleviate medical expenses for a deserving local family.

Baby Anniston Cancienne, son of Tricia and Darren Cancienne of Reserve, is a 9-month-old twin that was born with MMIHS. This rare disorder impacts the bladder and gastrointestinal system.

Anniston is being fed through TPN, which is not something he can live on forever. If Anniston’s gut stimulation doesn’t work, he will have to be evaluated for a multi-organ transplant that can’t be done in Louisiana. He would have to go to Omaha or Pittsburg for six to nine months. Anniston currently has a broviac/central line, which makes him very susceptible to infection.

The Riverlands Golf and Country Club November Craft Show and Give Back Event will also feature Divine Crafts NOLA with Miss Piggy’s Lip Gloss to raise money for 6-year-old Imani Soniat to get a Trexo Robotic Walker.

Imani has been diagnosed with Spatic quadriparesis, Congentital quadriplegia, Congenital hemivertebra, Cervical stenosis of spinal canal, Erbs Palsy and Cerebal Palsy. Despite her circumstances, Imani continues to defy odds and get stronger every day. She dreams of growing up to be a doctor who can “fix people’s legs,” and her family believes the Trexo Robotic Walker will help her take her first steps.

The Blood Center will be hosting a blood drive inside the Clubhouse during the event. The Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office will be present with vehicles for children and families to look at.

Families will also enjoy ordering delicious treats from Mr. Milkshake, a traveling gourmet milkshake company.

Other vendors will show their talents by offering an array of handmade jewelry, woodworking, homemade goods, arts and craft pieces and much more.
