Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Renee Tye, née Harrall, made her first sale when she was only 12 years old. Her father told her that if she sold a used Volkswagen to an interested couple, he would give her money to go to the movies with her friends.

Her father, Eldon “Curly” Harrall, became her mentor on his used automobile lot. Her interest in sales grew throughout her teenage years. By the time she was 16, she had attended her first live seminar with renowned American author, salesman and motivational speaker “Zig” Ziglar.

From that moment, she was hooked!

Renee recently joined the L’OBSERVATEUR staff as the newest sales representative. In her new role, she will visit people and businesses throughout the River Parishes to present innovative print and digital advertising solutions perfect for helping the region get back to business after widespread COVID-19 shutdowns.

Renee was born in Terrebonne Parish and was raised in Schriever, Louisiana, on her parents’ six-acre quarter horse ranch. Her father was well known throughout the community as a world famous auctioneer who donated his services to youth and cancer auctions.

Her family also includes her mother, Naomi Harrall, and two brothers, Ronnie and Eldon Jr., one an auctioneer and the other a Houma City Court adhoc judge.

After starting in sales with automobiles, Renee started working for the Houma Courier in classified sales at age 19. She has worked in advertising ever since, and her experience has ranged from selling ads with her partner, Andrew, when they owned their own motorcycle magazine to yellow page, church bulletin and billboard advertising.

Renee is excited to now work in the River Parishes.

“I love St. John and St. James parishes. The people are much more friendly and neighborly than they are in the bigger cities, such as New Orleans,” Renee said.

Renee said she especially loves representing L’OBSERVATEUR because of the great staff she works with. She especially loves having an opportunity to present new digital advertising tools to local businesses.

“Since technology is so advanced, I am in a unique position to offer affordable advertising for the average small business owner in our digital market. Now more than ever we need to help each other grow and stay in business,” Renee said. “I want to encourage everyone to call me and let me show you in five minutes how I can help make your business grow with digital ads that I can literally build your advertising to fit any budget and I can even provide ‘proof’ to the advertiser of who and where your potential customers are!”
