LUTCHER – St. James Parish Hospital is proud to announce the 2020 Employees of the 2nd Quarter, Ericka Geason, certified nursing assistant, and Kelein Barrow, physical therapist. Both employees were nominated by fellow staff and chosen by the Executive Leadership Team for their dedication to the hospital.

Ericka joined St. James Parish Hospital in 2018 as a certified nursing assistant. She attended St. James High School and went on to graduate from Louisiana Technical College in 2004.

Ericka was nominated by Ty’Mya Johnson, CNA, who stated, “This employee should be employee of the quarter because she took the responsibility to train me and make sure I become a great worker at the hospital. She could have just let me follow her around and watch, but she insisted on teaching me.

“Her attitude shows the love and respect she has for everyone in the hospital. She was encouraging even when I wasn’t yet at my best and always reminding me to go watch the nurses as they perform care.”
When asked for comment, Ericka stated, “I love working here. My coworkers are wonderful.”

Kelein has served the hospital for 10 years. She graduated from St. James High School in 2000. In 2004, she graduated from LSU with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and a minor in business administration. She earned her master’s in physical therapy from LSU Health Sciences Center of Allied Health Professionals.

Kelein was nominated by Natashia Stout, RN, for her positive attitude and constantly encouraging patients to do their best to reach their therapy goals.

Natashia stated, “Kelein will always go the extra mile for safety and her dedication to her job is exceptional. She goes above and beyond to help nursing as needed with extra tasks and makes sure her patients always have what they need.”

Kelein commented, “I am grateful to serve the community that helped make me the person I am today through my vocation as a physical therapist. I appreciate the close-knit atmosphere that our work family has here at St. James Parish Hospital. We all share the common goal of helping our community recover and return to the family and lives they love.”

St. James Parish Hospital congratulates both employees for their dedication to the hospital’s mission of providing excellent, quality and compassionate healthcare.
