In closely related news, St. John Parish President Hotard signed an Emergency Declaration in advance of both Tropical Storms Marco and Laura to allow parish officials to take precautionary measures and ensure the safety of St. John Parish Residents.

Although intensity and forecast for both systems remain uncertain, heavy rainfall, strong winds and elevated tides could possibly impact Louisiana early next week. Residents are asked to assist in removing loose debris and trash in catch basins at home in advance of inclement weather.
Public Works crews are out checking pump stations and blowing out drainage outlets. The Utilities Department is also monitoring all lift stations and generators for the water and wastewater systems.
