My wife often accuses me of using wasted words, not ever realizing that she does the same. I’ve never heard another person who can make as long a story out of a short one. I consider that wasting words.

The Bible says that we will be held accountable for the time we’ve wasted. I confess that I’m guilty of wasting time, but I do admit that in the last few years, I’ve been more conscious of managing it.

I’ve often heard it said that time is more valuable than money, because time is irreplaceable.

This week, I was reminded of the following which I read in “Wings of Silver,”compiled by Jo Petty:

The clock of life is wound but once
And no man has the power to tell
Just when the hands will stop
At late or early hour.
Now is the only time you own:
Live, love, toil with a will,
Place no faith in tomorrow;
For the clock may then be still.

I pray that I will be disciplined to live each day one day at a time with love in my heart and to be grateful for my salvation, realizing that I’m a miracle. The clock of my life will be still one day, and I’ll be held responsible for how I ran the race that God placed before me.
