The Treasury Department and the IRS are encouraging taxpayers to file their taxes by July 15. Due to COVID-19, the original tax filing and payment deadline for 2019 was postponed from April 15 to July 15, but it will not be postponed again.

Individual taxpayers unable to file by July 15 should request an extension of time to file to October 15.
