LAPLACE — L’OBSERVATEUR’s latest poll asked readers, “Would you like to see more new restaurants in St. John Parish?”  Out of 230 votes cast, 208 people (90 percent) people voted “Yes,” and 22 people (10 percent) voted “No.”

We had many morecomments on this issue than any of our previous poll questions. Here are just a few:

“ BBQ joint. Real pork barbeque and blues in the background. Something with atmosphere so you don’t even mind as your arteries are cloggin’ up”

“Chik-Fil-A … Cracker Barrel! There is a perfect location for one at Belle Terre and I-10”

“Yes but not a bunch, maybe 2 or 3. Worker-wise we can’t support too many.”

“ more restaurant options in Reserve or Garyville that serve supper”

“Well first the residents of St. John Parish would need to support them”

“We have some amazing places here that we try to support as much as possible! FATTY’s, Buddy-B’s, Petra, Frenier, Bec’s, Cashio’s, just to name some locally-owned awesome places.”

For the next Facebook poll question, we ask, “Do you think there will be a football season this fall?” If YES, please comment as to what you think the football season might look like. If you answer NO, perhaps you could elaborate on what you think needs to happen before football is allowed.

The results will be available in next Saturday’s L’OBSERVATEUR.
