Food Distributions in St. John Parish

Upcoming food distributions will take place on the west and east bank of St. John parish.

West Bank

Marathon Petroleum Company LP will sponsor a community wide food distribution event beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2020 West St. John High School in Edgard. This event is made possible through a partnership with MPC, St. John United Way, St. John Parish and Harvest Time Christian Center.

The following guidelines have been put in place to ensure a safe, and contact-free distribution:

*   Please remain in vehicle
*   Food will be placed in trunk of vehicle or truck bed
*   Trunk must be opened from inside of vehicle
*   2 families per vehicle max
*   Must be present to receive food
*   First come, first served

East Bank

Denka will sponsor a community wide food distribution event from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday June 30 at the St. John Community Center located at 2900 Highway 51 in LaPlace

Please have the following information ready:

Number of family members 0-17

Number of family members 18-64

Number of family members 65+

 

This is an open distribution you do not have to prequalify to receive food

First come, first served

In accordance with Covid-19 Protocols, food will not be placed in passenger compartments of cars. Please make sure that your trunk is clean, and that your trunk contains a clothes basket or other container of similar size. Your food will be placed in this container.

If you are in a pickup truck, please make sure that this container is secured in the bed of your truck. If your car is a hatchback, please place this container in the back compartment of your car.

If you cannot open your trunk from inside your car, please say so and you will be instructed when to open your trunk.
