RESERVE – Riverside Academy’s elementary school will be under new leadership for the 2020-2021 school year.

Riverside alum Kristin Delaneuville Roccaforte will be the new Elementary Supervisor following school board approval on May 13.

“I have been in discussion with (her) for quite some time, trying to get her to agree to fill this role,” said Riverside Academy principal Michael Coburn. “Kristin has so much to offer, not only the Pre-K and elementary (school), but also to our entire Riverside Academy family. I am excited and thrilled.”

Longtime faculty member Chris Jones had filled the role on an interim basis since January.

A third grade teacher at the school for 18 years — plus one in middle school —  Roccaforte is a Riverside legacy. She graduated from the school in 1998 and went on to Nicholls State University, graduating in 2002. Her father, Jimmy Delaneuville, was one of the earliest students at Riverside and her brother, Sean, graduated as a Rebel in 2001. Her husband, Mike Roccaforte, graduated in 1997.

“I’m really excited,” Roccaforte said. “The group of ladies on the elementary side, from pre-K through fifth, are a really hard-working group of ladies. Of course there’s always room for improvement, but we have a lot of positives. I’m really excited to go into all the classrooms and see all the curriculum and instruction going on on a daily basis.”
