Monday Update: St. John reports 751 COVID-19 cases; 17,303 statewide presumed recovered

LAPLACE — As of the Sunday update from the Louisiana Department of Health, there have been 751 reported cases of COVID-19 and 64 deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish.
On Sunday, there were 749 recorded cases and 64 deaths in St. John Parish.
St. Charles Parish has 549 reported cases and 36 deaths, while St. James has 239 reported cases and 18 deaths.
Statewide, there are 27,068 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across all 64 parishes. This marks an increase of 295 cases since yesterday’s report.
There have been 1,697 deaths statewide, which is an increase of 27 since Sunday’s report. The first death in the state was reported on March 14.
According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 1,683 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state. Of these patients, 262 are on ventilators.
The state is now reporting that 17,303 people who have tested positive are presumed to have recovered as of April 27.
