Drive-thru groceries offered: St. John Parish food distributions continue

St. John Health and Human Services will have a food distribution on the West Bank from 10 a.m. to noon April 28 at the West St. John High School Parking lot and on the East Bank from 10 a.m. to noon April 29 at REGALA Gymnasium Parking Lot (200 REGALA Park Rd. in Reserve).
Distribution is first come, first served. Eligibility will be made at the time of distribution. Recipients should remain in line in their vehicles. If currently on the USDA distribution list, no further information will be needed. If not on the USDA distribution list, information will be collected at that time. The food will be placed in the trunk by a staff member.
Food will also be distributed by Second Harvest Food Bank and St. John Department of Health and Human Services from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 5 at the St. John Community Center, 2900 U.S. 51 in LaPlace.
The number of family members ages 0-17, 18-64, and 65 and over will be needed. Distribution is limited to two families per car, and one family member must be present.
Food will be placed in the trunk of the vehicle and should have a clothesbasket or box for food to be placed. In a pick-up truck the container should be secured in the bed. Hatchbacks should have the container in the back compartment.
