Wednesday update: St. John reporting 704 COVID-19 cases

LAPLACE — As of the Wednesday update from the Louisiana Department of Health, there have been 704 reported cases of COVID-19 and 57 deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish.
On Tuesday, there were 686 recorded cases and 57 deaths in St. John Parish.
St. Charles Parish has 522 reported cases and 47 deaths, while St. James has 231 reported cases and 18 deaths.
Statewide, there are 25,258 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across all 64 parishes. This marks an increase of 404 cases since yesterday’s report.
There have been 1473 deaths statewide, which is an increase of 68 since Tuesday. The first death in the state was reported on March 14.
According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 1,747 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state. Of these patients, 287 are on ventilators.
