Tuesday Update: St. John reports 686 COVID-19 cases

LAPLACE — As of the Tuesday update from the Louisiana Department of Health, there have been 686 reported cases of COVID-19 and 57 deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish.

On Monday, there were 669 recorded cases and 53 deaths in St. John Parish.

St. Charles Parish has 516 reported cases and 29 deaths, while St. James has 228 reported cases and 16 deaths.

Statewide, there are 24,854 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across all 64 parishes. This marks an increase of 331 cases since yesterday’s report.

There have been 1405 deaths statewide, which is an increase of 77 since Monday. The first death in the state was reported on March 14.

According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 1,798 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state. Of these patients, 297 are on ventilators.
