Saturday Update: St. John Parish reports 53 deaths

LAPLACE — As of the Saturday update from the Louisiana Department of Health, there have been 627 reported cases of COVID-19 and 53 deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish.
On Friday, there were 623 recorded cases and 50 deaths in St. John Parish.
St. Charles Parish has 487 reported cases and 27 deaths, while St. James has 217 reported cases and 14 deaths.
Statewide, there are 23,580 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across all 64 parishes. This marks an increase of 462 cases since yesterday’s report.
The virus has spread in all Louisiana parishes. There have been 1,267 deaths, up 54 from Friuday. The first death in the state was reported on March 14.
According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 1,761 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state. Of these patients, 347 are on ventilators.
