HAHNVILLE – Both St. Charles Parish high schools will go into the 2020 football season in the fall with new football coaches.

One week after Destrehan announced the hiring of former assistant coach Marcus Scott as the new coach of the Wildcats, Hahnville head coach Nick Saltaformaggio announced that he has resigned to become the head coach at Holy Cross High School in New Orleans.

Saltaformaggio, 60, graduated from Holy Cross in 1977. For the last six years he has coached the Hahnville Tigers, leading them to a record of 54-23 and a Class 5A runner-up finish in 2017. Hahnville was 9-3 in 2019. Before landing at Hahnville, Saltaformaggio was the head coach at East Jefferson, leading the Warriors to their only state championship in 2013. He also was the head coach at Abbeville from 1987-1991, at Chalmette in 2004 and at Oconee County, Georgia, in 2006 and 2007. His career record is 131-75.

Longtime Destrehan head coach Stephen Robicheaux announced his retirement in February. Scott was selected from among nearly 30 applicants to replace him.
