WELCOME — In light of COVID-19 safety issues and the fluctuation of the Mississippi River stages, FG has decided to temporarily pause activities on The Sunshine Project property until mid-April; at that time, the company will reassess the initiation of planned work.
Earlier this week, Entergy initiated work on The Sunshine Project property. Based on federal guidelines and Governor John Bel Edwards’ Stay at Home order, the ongoing operation of the energy sector is considered essential. However, Entergy’s activities are temporarily paused out of an abundance of caution.
The Sunshine Project, stationed in St. James Parish, will produce polyethylene, polypropylene, polymers and ethylene glycol that will be used to manufacture life-saving plastics in the health care industry, such as ventilators, masks, gloves, goggles and aprons. Further, the products FG would create would be used help to make everyday products, including car casings, infant seats, drainage pipes, artificial turf, polyester clothing and playground equipment.
