The coronavirus is the topic of conversation in any group and gets as much media coverage as anything in American History since the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941. It’s a serious, contagious, deadly virus that we weren’t prepared for, unlike a hurricane that we in Louisiana are familiar with preparing for.

With that said, the by-product of the virus has shown us that fear is even more contagious than the virus. In fact, fear is evidently more contagious than faith. Over the past few weeks, I’ve heard Christian people say, “We know that God is in control.” That sounds really good, but do we really believe the Word of God? “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind,” 2 Timothy 1:7. And in Romans 12:3, “God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.”

I, like most people, have a lot of faith when everything is going well, but when challenged my faith is tested and I forget what my God promises.

Regardless of your measure of faith, God also gives us wisdom to prepare for battle against the enemy. We should listen to the advice of the experts and obey the recommendations of those in authority.

In World War II, our fathers and grandfathers bravely left their homes to fight without fear and kept America free. All we are asked to do is stay home.
