RESERVE — Parish President Jaclyn Hotard kicked off the East St. John baseball season by throwing the first pitch before Thursday’s opener against Mt. Hermon.

The Wildcats won their first game 7-6 after gaining three runs in the fifth inning on a double by Da’Jawn Johnson. George Smith went 3 innings on the mound, allowed five runs on two hits and struck out three. Eric Breaud pitched for two innings.
