LAPLACE — St. John United Way Executive Director Artis Williams presents Patricia Triche, director of Head Start and Early Childhood for St. John the Baptist Parish Public Schools, with $10,000 for the St. John the Baptist Parish Early Childhood Community Network.
As the Early Childhood initiative continues to thrive, there are many items that the program needs such as money to cover the printing of applications, professional development, leadership, advertisements, materials and supplies, training supplies and coordinated enrollment materials to increase public awareness.
The Louisiana Department of Education continues to try to fill the gap for families that need preschool education for their children. United Way’s involvement will help ensure that each child is ready to start school by preparing students for kindergarten and beyond. Thanks to United Way for helping lay the foundation for students in our community.
