The Norris J. Millet, Sr. Library (Central) will be hosting “Tablet Tutoring” for adults, at 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday morning. Patrons are asked to bring in their tablets with any questions that they may have. “Computer Classes” will be held at 2 p.m. every Wednesday for adult patrons. The overall objective of these classes is to instruct the student in the basic operation of certain computer components and successful usage of programs. “Story Time” will be held for children, ages 1 and up, at 10:30 a.m. every Thursday morning. This weekly program is a time for young children and their parents or caretakers to interact in a comfortable setting. Each session will include stories, songs, rhymes, finger plays and other activities. At 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, the LSU Ag Center will be conducting a presentation on “Container Gardening.” Container Gardening is a great way to grow your own nutritious and delicious fruits and vegetables if you lack the space to plant in-ground. Join the LSU Ag Center at the Central Library for an awesome demonstration on how to do this. “Family Fun Saturday” will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 14. Families will be able to share activities, crafts, and/or enjoy movies during this program. St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated with a “Make and Take” event that will be held all day. Children, ages 5 and up, along with their parents are invited to create a wonderful craft to commemorate the day.
The Leroy D. Williams Memorial Library (Reserve) will host “Words on Words” for the entire month of March. Children, ages 4 and up, are allowed to spell out words using the alphabets from the word of the day. “Walking Your Way to Health” will be held at 10 a.m. every Thursday morning for adult patrons. Patrons will walk/exercise for 30 minutes to improve or maintain their overall health. The “Itsy Bitsy Science Club” will be held at 11 a.m. every Friday morning. Children, ages 2 to 5 years are welcome to discover their inner scientist as they explore, build, and create with science, technology, engineering, art and math. The monthly “Make Shoppe” will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 9. Patrons will be creating DIY coasters using scrap paper or photos. At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, an “Ask-A-Lawyer Clinic” will be held for anyone who has legal questions. This is a free legal aid clinic hosted by Southeast Louisiana Legal Services. For any questions, please call the Reserve Library at (985) 536-4107. A ‘Pipe Cleaner Flower” craft will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 28. This will be a make and take event for children ages 5 and up.
The Frazee-Harris Memorial Library (Garyville) will host a “Movie Matinee,” at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 2 and at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 23. Children, ages 5 and up, and their parents are invited to attend. Children, ages 1 to 4, are welcome to join the staff for “Drop In and Play.” This program will be held art 10 a.m. every Tuesday in March. It is designed for parents and their children to enjoy playing time by sharing Legos, puzzles, and play-doh. “Pajama Evening Storytime” will be held at 5 p.m. every Thursday. Children, ages 5 and up are welcome to attend in their favorite pajamas to hear bedtime stories. Adult patrons are invited to a “Tech Class” at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 9. Patrons can learn the basics, such as setting up an email account or learning simple Microsoft Office programs. “Simply Paint” will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 14 and at 4 p.m. Monday, March 16. Tweens and teens are invited to participate in this St. Patrick Day inspired program.
The Roland Borne Sr. Memorial Library (Edgard) will host “Computer Classes” for adults at 10 a.m. every Monday and at 6 p.m. every Wednesday. Novice computer users who want to improve their skills are invited to this 30-minute class to immerse themselves in the knowledge of communications. “Storytime” will be held at 5 p.m. every Wednesday. Children, ages 2 and up are welcome to enjoy engrossing stories and activities. Tweens and teens are invited to “Game Time” at 4 p.m. every Thursday. This program is designed for kids to put down their smart phones/electronics and play some classic board games, such as Jenga, Checkers, Candyland, etc. Children, ages 6 and up are invited to the “Crafts Sticks Leprechaun Hats” craft at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17. Tweens and teens who are interested in March Madness are invited at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 to make a “DIY Basketball Hoop.” Adults are invited to celebrate Easter at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31 by making “Easter Egg Mason Jars.”

Also, the Norris J. Millet, Sr. Library (Central) will be closed on Sunday, Feb. 23 due to traffic conflicts during the parades. All libraries will be closed for the Mardi Gras holiday on Monday, Feb. 24 and Tuesday, Feb. 25. Have a safe holiday!
