NAACP reactivated in St. John Parish

Branch 6077 of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was reactivated in St John the Baptist Parish on Feb. 15. The following board was elected: President Dr. Shondrell Perrilloux, Vice President Rev. Dr. Reginald Holmes, 2nd Vice President, Derron Cook, Secretary Nada Johnson, Assistant Secretary David Weathersby, Treasurer Larry Soraparu, Jr, Assistant Treasurer Pastor Rev. Julius Ellis, and Parliamentary LaTunya Creecy.

The mission of the NAACP is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons. Our branch is committed to oversight of government accountability to safeguard the proper representation of our local government. We are also committed to be a voice for the voiceless and promoting fairness in the political, educational, social and economical system.
