LAWRENCE, Kan. – 2018 Riverside Academy alumnus Jared Butler is rocking the colligate basketball world. The sophomore guard of the Baylor University team recently finished with 22 points on 9-for-18 shooting against No. 3 Kansas. The results were spectacular when Baylor broke the “Allen Fieldhouse curse.” Named after the sports venue at Kansas, Baylor had never won a game on the Kansas court in the school’s history, having gone 0-17. The win also marked the first time the Bears won against a top five team on the road.
The game was an even bigger blow to Kansas, as it lost its first home game in nearly two years. The last loss was in early February 2018. Kansas coach Bill Self told reporters in a post game press conference, “We got our (expletive) handed to us today.” The final score was 67-55.
