LULING — The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is holding a “MLK Day of Service” children’s book drive during the month of January in order to help support childhood literacy.
“This year we chose to continue the children’s book drive as a way for us to continue to promote the importance of childhood literacy in our parish,” said Interim Director of RSVP Jeanne L. Arabie. “We are asking for donations of new or gently used children’s books so we can donate those books to children in our community.”
Donations can be dropped off at the RSVP office at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center at 274 Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway in Luling and will used to benefit local children.
The MLK book drive is sponsored by RSVP of the River Parishes and the RSVP Advisory Council. For more information, contact the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program at 985-783-8907.
