RESERVE — On Friday, Nov. 8, East St. John High School and Teche Action Clinic are proud to host a “P(E)ACE Rally” in the gymnasium and on the front lawn of the campus.

Speakers include:

  • Host, Jonathan “JB” Stewart – the Movement
  • G’Nell Hall, LPC – Teche Action Clinic School-Based Health Center at East St. John High School, Counselor
  • Graylin Burl, St. John the Baptist Parish Sherriff’s Office
  • Joseph “Joe” Harris – Terrebonne Parish Juvenile Justice Complex, Director

During the latter half of the event, students, faculty and community leaders will enjoy a field day in the front of campus with food, music, activities and competitions.

Teche Action Clinic has been in operation for 45 years, serving St. John, Assumption, Terrebonne, Lafourche and St. Mary parishes. The School Based Health Centers in St. John the Baptist Parish are entering their fourth year of providing physical and behavioral health care, with locations at East St. John High School, LaPlace Elementary School and West St. John Elementary School.

St. John School Based Health Centers Director and P(E)ACE Rally organizer, Tyren Snyder, hopes this event will be a fun time to inspire unity, as well as a launching pad for students to overcome their obstacles with conflict resolution, anger management and seeking help through counseling. “G’Nell (Hall) is great with students; and I hope they continue to utilize her services as well as faculty and parents continuing to refer students to her,” Snyder said.

Current and elected public officials, school board members and alumni association volunteers are all welcome to come and support the students as Principal Mayes, East St. John High School Faculty, and Teche Action Clinic work to build a healthier, peace-filled school environment.
