RESERVE — Our Lady of Grace is hosting the Black Saints Parade and Prayer Service to begin Black Catholic History Month at 772 Highway 44 in Reserve. The theme is “Open Wide Our Hearts: A Reflection on Race, Equity and Justice.”
This will be the first time the celebration will be held in the River Parishes. This event begins with a parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, followed by a prayer service at 11:15 a.m. and a reception in the gym.
This event is part of Office of Black Catholic Ministries’ goal to cultivate the rich diversity of the Black Catholic community in general, and particularly, in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The office advocates for equality in education, social justice, and pastoral ministries throughout the Church and the community.
