St. John election night results

LAPLACE – Soon after the closing of polling places at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, the office of Louisiana Secretary of State, Kyle Ardoin, began posting unofficial results for all races throughout the state.  All races below have 100% of absentee votes counted and ll precincts reporting (except where noted).

Incumbents losing their seats in this election were Councilman at Large Division A, Larry Sorapuru and District 2 Councilwoman, Julia Remondet.

Only two local races are headed for a run-off next month.  Without any vote-getters receiving the 50 percent threshold, Parish Councilman at Large Division B and Parish Council District 4 races are headed for run-offs on Nov.16.

Sheriff

  • Clarence Gray, Jr. –  38 percent – 5468 votes
  • Mike Tregre  –  55 percent – 7910 votes
  • Shug Watkins –  7 percent – 990 votes

Clerk of Court

  • Eliana DeFransesch – 67 percent – 9316 votes
  • Peggy Joseph – 33 percent – 4529 votes

Parish President

  • Jaclyn Hotard – 68 percent – 9664 votes
  • Charles Julien – 14 percent – 1999 votes
  • Terry Lewis, Sr. – 3 percent – 363 votes
  • Rodney Nicholas – 12 percent – 1714 votes
  • Randy Vincent – 4 percent – 567 votes

Councilman at Large – Division A

  • Lennix “Tweet” Madere – 55 percent – 3660 votes
  • Larry Sorapuru – 45 percent – 3005 votes

Councilman at Large – Division B

  • Marvin “Butch” Perrilloux –  31 percent – 2226 votes
  • Larry Snyder, Sr. –  26 percent – 1848 votes
  • Michael P. Wright –  43 percent – 3080 votes

  • Julia Remondet –  46 percent – 940 votes
  • Warren J. “Bosco” Torres, Jr. – 54 percent – 1094 votes

  • Tammy Houston – 70 percent – 1168 votes
