RESERVE — Laid off workers from Bayou Steel Group are invited to attend a no-cost job fair from 1 to 4 p.m. today, Oct. 10, at Regala Gym in Reserve.

Approximately 50 vendors and five service providers will be at the job fair with available positions, according to St. John the Baptist Parish officials.

Attendees should keep the following in mind:

• Bring copies of your resume. For more information on building a resume, see laworks.net.
• Dress your best! Come to the job fair dressed appropriately. Please avoid wearing jeans, sweats, T-shirts, hats and ball caps.

The St. John Pastors Coalition is hosting a free grocery and gift card giveaway for laid off employees starting at noon today, Oct. 10. The giveaway will be located at New Wine Christian Fellowship, 1925 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace. Please bring your Bayou Steel ID.

Also, free haircuts for laid off Bayou Steel employees will be held every Saturday for the remainder of the month at Studio Cuts, located at 1 Ormond Boulevard in LaPlace, behind Shell and across from Sonic. For more information about the haircuts, please call 504-360-3530.
