LAPLACE – Sheriff Mike Tregre and several of his fellow officers will be participating in National Coffee with a Cop Day. The event will be held on Oct. 2 at three locations, Waffle House and PJs Coffee in LaPlace and Fee-Fo-Lay Cafe in Wallace.

Officers will visit Waffle House from 7 – 9 a.m. at the restaurant at 1922 West Airline Highway. It will also be held from 8 -11 a.m. at Fee-Fo-Lay Cafe, 5593 Alexis Court, in Wallace. That afternoon, from 3 – 5 p.m. officers will be at PJs Coffee, 1808 West Airline Highway.

Residents are encouraged to discuss community issues, to get to know each other, build relationships, and drink coffee in a relaxed atmosphere.

“The event offers the opportunity to engage and communicate with the residents we serve and protect,” Sheriff Tregre said. “I hope residents will come out to enjoy a cup of coffee with officers and help build strong relationships between the community and law enforcement.”
