In Mark, Chapter 5:19, Jesus says to one that He healed, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you.”

I’ve wanted to write a book for over 20 years ever since I heard and read many times about the power of your testimony.

My daughter, Ronny, once shared this old African proverb with me, “When an old man dies, a whole library is buried with Him.” I believe that everyone has a testimony and should write a book to leave for their loved ones instead of taking it to the grave.

My motivation to share my testimony is not about selling books, but to allow my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to know what God has done in my life.  I believe the most powerful testimony of all is a life that cannot be explained without God.

The title of my book is “Sober and Saved”.  I got sober in a 12-step program that encourages people who have been sober for a year of so, to tell their story.  It’s been said that it’s simple if you tell people how it was, what happened, and how it is now.

I pray that the Holy Spirit guides me as I write so that it will be interesting, honest, specific, and warm.
