St. James Parish Hospital will be hosting its annual Flu Shot Fair in October. Patients ages 3 and up will be able to choose from several day or evening options and conveniently bypass the scheduling process to get their vaccinations.

St. James Parish Hospital’s Flu Shot Fair will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every Thursday and Friday from Oct. 3 – 25. Flu vaccines will be offered in the medical plaza, located next to the hospital.

The hospital is also offering expanded evening options. Throughout October, patients can choose to get their flu vaccinations during normal Urgent Care hours. St. James Urgent Care is currently open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Patients are reminded to bring an ID and their insurance card. Uninsured patients can receive the vaccination for $30. Flu Fair attendees will not be charged for an office visit.

The CDC recommends that everyone 6 months and older receive a flu vaccine each season, especially those that are at high risk of serious complications from influenza.
