Michel: God won’t leave anything out

When I picked Adeline up from her first day at swim camp, her excitement about her morning was evident. As soon as we found her towel, her lunch kit, and her shoes, I buckled her into her car seat and said, “Now tell me everything about your morning.”
“Really?” she asked. “Everything?
“Every single detail. Don’t leave out anything.”
She smiled then launched into her experiences one by one including why her towel was moved, what she ate for lunch, and the moment she spotted a friend in the pool and jumped in to join her, which accounted for hers being the only shoes laying between the two pools. Every second of our ten minutes ride home was filled with her exuberant summary, and I was happy to share her joy.
It reminded me of myself. I often use a few minutes in the day to talk to God about what’s happening in my life. He already knows what happened and how I feel, but it helps me to sort through my thoughts and emotions.
Luke 12:6-7 reminds me of God’s care for even the smallest details of my life. “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
I once heard a speaker explain that verse by saying that God not only knows how many strands of hair are on your head, He has assigned each one a number. That’s a display of not only His greatness, but His attention to every single detail of our lives.
So when I talk to Him, and ask for His help, I cover everything. I don’t leave out anything.
