Introducing Ronnie Luman, account sales representative

In serving as the local news source for St. John the Baptist Parish and the surrounding River Region, L’OBSERVATEUR is dependent on a team of employees eager to learn and grow while making a difference in the community.

These are qualities held by our newest account sales representative, Ronnie Luman.

As an outside salesperson, Ronnie will meet with local business owners, nonprofit directors and other community leaders to help keep St. John the Baptist Parish residents aware of the many resources that exist right in our backyard.

L’OBSERVATEUR offers a number of advertising opportunities, ranging from print to social media and targeted online ads tailored to an Internet user’s browsing history. Advertising representatives are our line to the customers we service.

Ronnie is dedicated to the wellbeing of his family and his neighbors. He resides in LaPlace with his girlfriend, Brittney, their 2-year-old son, Wyatt, and his stepdaughter, Kirstin, who is entering her senior year at St. Charles Catholic High School.

As a family, they started an initiative in 2018 to collect canned goods for the St. John Ministry of Care. A donation drop-off box is stationed at Saint Optical in LaPlace, located at 1518 W. Airline Highway.

Ronnie has worked in accounting and within the golf field for the local PGA tour, Fore!Kids Foundation, Audubon and Riverlands Golf and Country Club.

He’s volunteered for Bridgehouse/Gracehouse, an organization that provides substance abuse treatment services, long-term housing and clinical and vocational-based programs for people battling addiction.

Ronnie has also assisted raising money for injured and fallen officers with Help for Heroes, a foundation started by a friend who was shot and paralyzed in the line of duty.

Compassion for the community will be key to Ronnie’s new role in advertising sales.

“I’m also a realtor, so working with people on a daily basis means getting to know everybody, building relationships, seeing what they need and making sure that happens,” Ronnie said. “I will follow up to make sure they can build that trust within me.”

He said building trust means there will be no empty promises, only results.

“I’m excited. I’m looking to dive right into it, and I can’t wait to begin working with a great group of people,” Ronnie said. “It’s that aspect of teamwork. It’s not clocking in from 8 to 5. It’s working late hours and weekends to make sure everything’s done. There’s a goal to meet. Let’s get it done.”
