Parnell Pleads Guilty to Violating Sex Offender Registration Law

Albert Parnell of 3701 California Ave. Kenner, age 34, pled guilty to Failure to Register and Notify as a Sex Offender or Child Predator. Parnell was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Adam Koenig, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement following a 2017 arrest.

In May of 2017, St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to make contact with Parnell, a convicted sex offender, at the address provided on his sex offender registration or via telephone. Deputies learned that Parnell was not actually residing at the provided address. An arrest warrant was issued and Parnell was arrested and booked into the St. James Parish Detention Center. Parnell has a 2011 conviction in Jefferson Parish for Sexual Battery.

Parnell was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.

    Laplace Man Pleads Guilty to Illegal Firearm Possession

On July 15, Darnell Robertson Jr. of 8784 Houma Dr. Laplace, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Robertson was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement following a 2018 traffic stop.

On August 3, 2018, narcotics agents with the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle in the Lutcher area after observing a traffic violation. A search of the vehicle was conducted and agents found marijuana and several firearms. One of the firearms was located in the possession of the driver, Darnell Robertson Jr. Robertson, who has a prior felony conviction for narcotics possession, was subsequently arrested and booked into the St. James Parish Detention Center.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charge, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.

 Vacherie man pleads guilty to drug charges

Toshiro Williams of 2310 Perkins St. Vacherie, age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on 3 years supervised probation. Assistant District Attorney Adam Koenig acted as prosecutor while the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert presided over the case.
