LAPLACE — To dispose of sandbags after a storm, spread sand over your lawn, making sure it doesn’t go into the street or the catch basins.

Place empty bags in the trash and store clean sandbags for future use.

If sandbags were exposed to floodwater, do not put sand in a sandbox or any other place it may come into human contact.

Sandbags that have not been wet may be saved for the next storm, according to St. John the Baptist Parish Communications.
