Brooks dances to a scholarship

LAPLACE — Donavan Brooks,
a 17-year dance student at Performance
Arts Dance Center, has
been accepted into the American
Music and Dramatic Academy
(AMDA) in Los Angeles, CA.
Donavan began dancing at
PADC when he was 4 years old.
He has been the recipient of
many outstanding performance
awards, scholarships and an invitation
to dance in New York.
Donavan trained at PADC in
Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary,
and Acro/Gymnastics.
Donavan auditioned and received
a scholarship to begin his
bachelor’s degree in dance and
theater beginning in October
2019. Donavan participated in the
workshop and performed his solo
“Live Like Legend” and impressed
the judges with his knowledge of
dance, style and grace, and his
willingness to follow directions.
Donavan thanks Ms. Traci
and Ms. Ashlee for the many
years of competitive dance and
knowledge he received from
Performing Arts Dance Center.
He is very excited to begin this
next chapter of his life and looks
forward to returning to PADC
to teach when he graduates
