HOUMA — The Bayou Regional Arts Council (BRAC) will hold its annual fundraiser and membership drive, Duckin’ Out for the Arts from 6 to 10 p.m. July 12 at the Terrebonne Waterlife Museum, located at 7910 W Park Ave in Houma.
Fundraising efforts help BRAC provide grant-based support to local programs in St. John Parish, including St. John Theatre and St Joan of Arc Catholic School.
Members get in free. General admission tickets are $40 at the door or $60 for a pair and can be purchased now at bayouarts.org or at the Waterlife Museum.
The event will include a silent auction with displays of duck decoys that have been re-done by local artists included in a silent auction, as well as artwork and artistic experiences. Each item is unique to region and represents local culture, organizers said.
Musical entertainment will be provided by the Frank Ball paired with drinks that include famous “Ugly Ducklin” cocktails and some light food. Members of the arts council will be entered to win the “Lucky Duck” gift basket.
Additional information about the event can be found at bayouarts.org and on the Facebook event page. Email questions to bayouarts@gmail.com to learn more about the event or about the Bayou Regional Arts Council.
