LAPLACE – The River Region Chamber of Commerce has several events coming up for its members.

Customer Appreciation

The Chamber, in conjunction with Petra’s Restaurant, invites its Chamber members to a Customer Appreciation Luncheon at 11 a.m. June 26 at Petra, located at 1036 West Airline Highway in LaPlace. This event is free to all Chamber members. However any member wishing to attend must RSVP to Rebecca at 985-359-9777.

This networking event will last until 1 p.m.

 

Leadership Classes

The Chamber of Commerce Foundation is accepting applications for its next Leadership River Region class. Several informational meetings will be held at the Chamber office, 390 Belle Terre Blvd. in LaPlace. Available meeting times include:

Monday July 15 at 9 a.m., 11a.m.

Tuesday July 16 at 9 a.m., 11 a.m.

Monday July 22 at 2 p.m.

Tuesday July 23 at 11 a.m., 3 p.m.

Leadership River Region is designed to educate and to engage citizens in identifying needs, resources, and opportunities for the River Region. It is a program based on a national model used by Chambers throughout the country to develop individuals as leaders within their communities. While the program is new to the River Region, it has a long history of building successful leaders throughout the nation, state, and neighboring parishes.

Class Topics include regional perspectives, quality of life issues, culture and tourism, diversity, education, industry, economic and community development, and local government.

Any resident who is interested in attending should submit applications by August 15.
