LULING — St. Charles Parish Department of Community Services is applying for a Rural Housing Preservation Grant to repair and rehabilitate low-income, owner-occupied dwellings within the parish.

The grant is offered through the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural and Economic Development.

Information on the program is available through July 1 online at stcharlesparish-la.gov and at the Department of Community Services, located at 14564 River Road in New Sarpy.

Interested persons may submit their comments in writing to express their views relative to the proposed project and the possible social, economic and environmental effects involved.

All comments must be returned to Joan Diaz at the Department of Community Services by July 1. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
