River Region Chamber celebrating 15 years

As we begin summer, with vacations being planned and kids out of school, I want to remind everyone of the importance of thinking in terms of SAFETY. Safety needs to be paramount whether we are at home, at work, in the car, or involved in a summer trip or activity.
Every summer we hear heartbreaking stories about car accidents, drownings, outdoors accidents, yard work mishaps, etc. Be cautious. An accident that results from rushing, Jerry rigging, taking a short cut, or thinking you are not going to be the one, is an accident that could have been prevented.
We are planning to celebrate 15 years of serving the businesses in the River Region! It’s hard to believe it’s been that long since several business leaders in the three parishes decided to form your local Chamber! Come out and enjoy this celebration from 6 to 10 p.m. June 21 at the St. John Parish Community Center. There will be several local food providers ready to share their best dishes with you, not to mention a great entertainment lineup with Faith Becnel and the Music Krewe!
Ticket information is available on our website at riverregionchamber.org or by calling 985-359-9777.
The first Chamber Connections Luncheon was held May 29 at Cypress Lakes Country Club in Destrehan. Approximately 30-plus businesses attended to enjoy an hour of promoting their business to each other and enjoying lunch. Sincerest thanks to Perry at the Club and his team for making sure this event was successful! If you want a chance to meet some fellow members and 60 seconds of spotlight to deliver your elevator pitch, this type of opportunity is for you. We are working to plan a couple more this year, so stay tuned. Chamber event emails go out weekly on Thursdays. If you’d like to add staff members to this distribution list, just contact the Chamber to let them know.
Another goal set forth by the Board this year was for improved Communications such as branding via Instagram. We are pleased to announce that this has been completed. Additional measures to help maximize Chamber members and to keep the chamber visible are:
Board Member Profiles– We will be highlighting each board member by posting a picture and short bio on our social media pages. Can you each please send a picture of yourselves, plus a three to four sentence bio? The bios will be posted weekly.
Facebook Giveaways– The River Region Chamber of Commerce would like to feature your business in our highly successful Facebook giveaway promotion! We have room for four businesses to take part, so the first four that respond will be featured.
Business Promos– Do you have any specials or upcoming events that you would like the community to be made aware of? Submit them to us so we can feature your business in a Facebook post and email blast!
We at the River Region Chamber of Commerce wish all a fun and safe summer.
