LAPLACE — Payless ShoeSource of LaPlace, located at 1800 W. Airline Highway in the Walmart shopping center, is shutting its doors in May.

The move is part of a 2,100-store nationwide closure of all Payless locations.

A store associate said an exact closing date has not been announced.

Liquidation sales began this weekend, with 20 percent off women’s and men’s shoes, 30 percent off dance shoes and 40 percent off accessories and children’s shoes.
