Keller: Christmas gift shared at DWI class

Published 12:01 am Saturday, December 22, 2018

I had the privilege of conducting DWI classes this week.

The classes are held once a month on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Those convicted of driving while intoxicated are mandated by the state to attend.

This past Wednesday night, I asked who knew what we will celebrate Tuesday, Dec. 25.

Everyone said, “The birth of Jesus.”

One lady said, “It is the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.” I said that it was the greatest gift that God could give us.

I asked if anyone realized what the gift included if we were born-again and became Christians. I then continued and quoted Isaiah 9:6:

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

That precious and most important gift is given freely if we accept Jesus as our Savior.

It doesn’t cost anything, because Jesus paid the ultimate price with His death.

To many people it’s only a Happy Holiday, but to Jeanne and I, it’s a Merry Christmas!
