Wayne John Grassel Jr., 51, ended his six-month battle with cancer peacefully on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, in La Place, where he lived for the last 20 years.

Born in New Orleans and growing up in River Ridge, he was the son of the late Wayne J. Grassel Sr. and the late Lynda Arceneaux Muller.

He was step-son of the late Gerald A. Muller of Muller’s Hardware and brother of Kim Fair (Emile), Greg Grassel (Liz), Gwen Boyes (Tom), Troy Grassel and Shannon Park (Aaron).

He is also survived by a host of other relatives and his nieces and nephews living in Texas, Louisiana and Hawaii.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace, on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m.

Visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m.

Interment follows at St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
