Sample more than 200 booths Oct. 20-21 at Poche Plantation Arts and Crafts Festival

CONVENT — The Fifth Annual, Arts and Crafts Festival will be held Oct. 20 and 21 on the historic grounds of the nationally registered Poche Plantation along River Road in Convent.

Organizers are planning for visitors from near and far to pour onto the grounds and enjoy the hundreds of handcrafted items made by seasoned Louisiana crafters displaying their wares in more than 200 vendor booths.

The delightful sounds heard from more than seven stages will ring out with more than 100 acoustical musicians playing their instruments from guitars to harps.

Delicious food with a variety of tastes satisfying almost any palate are planned for the hungry patron.

Guided tours of the 1870s restored Victorian Mansion’s history will surely be crowd pleasers.

Kids will get a kick out of the variety of activities, including petting zoos, pony rides and bounce houses.

The two full days of fun are planned from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free parking and $5 entrance charge.
