SJSO’s fishing camp for children postponed; could be made up in fall

NORCO — There is going to be no St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office fishing camp for children this weekend, as access to the Bonnet Carre Spillway is not possible, officials announced.
The kids fishing camp, scheduled Saturday, may be rescheduled for the fall, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
It’s the camp’s second postponement, as the original date was May 19.
The free fishing camp for ages 8-14 was expected to take place at the Bonnet Carre Spillway Launch at Airline Highway and the east levee in Norco.
Fishing poles and bait would have been provided, as well as lunch.
