RESERVE — Each summer St. John Theatre produces a musical featuring members of the community.
This year is no exception. Actors, singers, dancers, musicians and technicians are busily preparing for the July 20 opening night of this year’s show, “Disney’s The Little Mermaid,” directed by long time St. John Theatre friend Mike Brooks.
King Triton’s youngest daughter, Ariel, wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above, bargaining with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs.
But the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends, Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea.
What happens under the sea and on land is pure Broadway musical magic.
“Disney’s The Little Mermaid” will run July 20-22 and July 25-28 at St. John Theatre in Reserve.
All show starts at 7:30 p.m. with the exception of the July 22nd 2:30 p.m. matinee.
Tickets are $15, and $10 for seniors and children; they may be purchased at the door or in advance at Allied Express starting in July.
